About

From a remote healing center in the Amazon, to neuroscience research at the University of Zurich; from Grandma’s living room to the healing waters of Lourdes; from John of God’s Casa in Brazil to the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas– HEALING PLACES shows how to find the healing we need for ourselves and loved ones.  Whomever we are, sometime in our life, we need to heal.  Bodies get sick, hearts get broken, tragedy strikes.  How we reach out to heal, how to evaluate what is good for our ailments, and how to embrace remedies is told through individuals’ experiences around the world. We learn the history of the healing place and tradition, explore scientific evidence, and witness effectiveness.

Pyramid of the Sun

HEALING PLACES addresses people with a variety of health issues and concerns, physical and emotional.  There is a temple in Bhutan with a 700-year-old history – blessing those with infertility problems, a 48-year-old American woman believes that is what allowed her to become a mother for the first time.  There is a facility in Florida where swimming with dolphins helps autistic children be more responsive.  There are pre-Roman salt baths in Turkey that have healed skin problems for thousands of years. The list is gratifying and long.

The goal of HEALING PLACES is to show people what exists today – miraculous, mundane, wild or sensible – places and things to do where we find the elements suited to us as individuals to heal.  Where we can trust, feel safe, relax (essential for healing), and drop our defenses.  Where our courage and energy can be directed to our condition, where one can find love, hope, support, and effective treatment. HEALING PLACES exist around the world as touchstones for us.  They allow the healing place within us to be found, with help from the natural and scientific world.
